Tinh vân con cua

Tinh vân con cua (Crab Nebula - M1, NGC 1952, Taurus A) là một tàn dư siêu tân tinh trong chòm sao Taurus (Kim Ngưu), nó được các nhà thiên văn học Trung Quốc, Ả Rập, Nhật Bản cổ đại ghi chép lại vào năm 1054.

Tinh vân con cua cách chúng ta 6500 năm ánh sáng, có đường kính 11 năm ánh sáng và nó mở rộng với tốc độ 1500 km mỗi giây. Ở phần trung tâm của tinh vân là Crab Pulsar, một ngôi sao neutron.
